It is
critical to understand the difference between hemp oil and CBD oil.
The reason is that the use of each of them varies. In truth, the
distinction between CBD oil and hemp oil is a bit nonsensical since
they come from the same plant. Cannabis comes from the plant Cannabis
sativa L. It is also from the same plant that marijuana and hemp come
from, only they are different strains.

Also, hemp
is typically grown for its industrial uses while marijuana is usually
grown for medicinal and recreational purposes. These days, hemp is
also being grown for medicinal use. A lot of confusion exists between
the two because they are always used interchangeably in medical
literature. Marijuana and hemp both contain cannabinoids.

Hemp,
however, tends to have a higher amount of CBD. Meanwhile, marijuana
is mostly cultivated for THC or tetrahydrocannabinol which is another
cannabinoid. Hemp usually has only about 0.03% THC, not enough to
cause any noticeable psychoactive effects. Both THC and CBD has
health benefits, but THC has psychotropic effects that put it as a
Schedule I drug, making it illegal in some states in the US.

How is
CBD Oil Extracted?

As this
time, you already know the similarities between CBD oil and hemp oil
– coming from the same plant, same components, and both are useful
products. Now, let’s determine the difference between the two. On
that, the answer lies on where and how the oils are extracted, more
specifically it refers to which part of the plan does the oil was
extracted.

As for CBD
oil, it was extracted from the buds, leaves, and stalks of hemp
plants. The process of extraction differs, but the safest would be
CO2-based and oil-based methods. The plants are usually soaked in a
carrier oil, such as olive or hemp oil. This step helps to separate
the plant’s components. The next extraction method uses high
pressure, which results in the purest product.

CBD
oil is highly beneficial, as it is known to help treat psychological
problems and epilepsy. It also helps in treating cancer and can serve
as an anti-inflammatory. It can also produce a calming effect that
inhibits the adverse effects of marijuana due to the presence of THC.
While more research is needed to ensure the safe use of CBD, it shows
significant progress.

How is
Hemp Oil Extracted?

As for hemp
oil, it is made from seeds. The seeds used to create hemp oil can
come from any plant within the cannabis family. However, it is
primarily extracted from hemp. Hemp seeds contain about 50% of the
weight of hemp oil. The seeds are mostly valued for nutrition instead
of its medicinal benefits. Like CBD oil, hemp oil has little amounts
of THC.

Hemp oil has excellent nutritional value. The oil is said to contain a significant amount of fatty and essential amino acids. Moreover, it is also found to contain high amounts of antioxidant, particularly of vitamin E. As you can see, CBD oil and hemp oil has more similarities than differences. Whichever between the two you choose depends highly on what you need.
