Harbor Freight “Inverter Generators” NOW OFFICIAL BUDGET GENERATOR THREAD

Thanks guys. With the rolling blackouts projected in the SETX and SWLA areas…..I think I might just hang out in an area that actually has power. Their are already problems with gas stations being down or having really long lines.

Start up will definitely decide how much generator is needed.

Trying to figure out how much generator I would need….(or multiple smaller generators)

A single 3.5 or a pair of 2kw to handle the surge of 2 compressors.
2kw is plenty when running , but the surge will
Likely push you over a single 2kw for starting.
You could get a kill a watt to check starting loads.

A 15k BTU RV a/c needs about 1800 running watts, more for start up.

The one listed is a 12k BTU.
