There is now a giant Lego replica of the Syrup Tanks in Domino Park.. also in Domino Park. The original Syrup Tanks are four of the fourteen, large-scale tanks that were used to collect high volumes of liquid sweetener generated in sugar processing. The Lego Domino Park ones are actually thousands of small Lego dots– 852,220 to be exact. The exhibit took 876 hours to create and each tank is about 34 ft in circumference and 10 ft high.
It is something worth taking a look at when doing your social distancing strolls around Williamsburg or going to the dog park.
This exhibit is one of four — I wish I could see the rainbow one! Here are the other exhibits:
- 9/18 to 10/4, Toronto: Canoe Landing Park – dotting the prominent Tom Thomson Red Canoe.
- 9/23 to 10/5, San Francisco: Conservatory of Flowers – rainbow made out of 207,360 LEGO DOTs that arches over the entrance to this Victorian Architecture.
- 9/23 to 10/5, Los Angeles: Rodeo Drive Fountain – dotting the world famous steps at the front of the fountain.
The Brooklyn exhibit runs through 10/2/2020.
