Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, September 30

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, September 30, 2020:

Low pressure responsible for last night’s rain is pulling away, resulting in a relatively uneventful day.

A few showers will linger across the area this morning as the steady rain continues to push east. The chances for showers will diminish late this morning. While a stray shower cannot be ruled out this afternoon, most of the time it will be dry.

Sunshine should break through the clouds by late morning and will continue to dart in and out through the afternoon.

Skies will become cloudier tonight and the chances for a few showers will increase. Steady, widespread rain is not expected though.

Blustery southwest winds will blow at 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph.

The southwest wind will have cool air, not a warm up, with highs unlikely to get much warmer than 60 degrees.

As the sun sets, temperatures will slip back into the low and mid 50s, where they should remain through much of the night.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Thursday: Sun, clouds, and possibly a few showers. Breezy. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs near 60.

Friday: Cloudy with periods of rain. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a few showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: A mix of clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 60.
