The Queen’s very own farm shop has been selling CBD energy drinks, which have been reportedly selling out due to people buying them in bulk.
Trip – a brand of energy drink which uses the compound cannabidiol (known as CBD) – comes in for different flavours, and a source has said they have been a popular choice at Her Majesty’s Windsor Farm Shop.
Whereas THC gives a more psychoactive effect, CBD is know to relax those who consume it, with research ongoing into its anti-anxiety and anti-psychotic effects.
A source reportedly told The Sun: “The drinks are quite quirky but very unusual for a farm shop – especially one run by The Queen.
“They are selling out quick.
“People pick up about seven or eight each time.
“The shop started stocking a few months ago and they’ve been really popular.”
The farm shop is located on the edge of the Home Park, near Windsor Castle. It opened in 2001 and has a cafe, with local produce and meat from the royal estate.
Trip was started by couple Liv and Dan in 2018. The drinks can be bought online, witha six pack of the cans costing £17.99. Each can contains 15mg of ‘premium CBD‘ with ‘zero THC’.
The website reads: “We created TRIP to share a bit of calm in the everyday chaos. CBD experiences that are just as enjoyable to taste as the feeling after. Products with amazing flavour that leave you more productive, less stressed and more you.”
The company also sells oils and merchandise, saying their products can be used for ‘for guilt-free good times’.
“Create a new evening ritual of a few drops of oil or open a can to unwind and relax into your best self. Enjoy what feels good for you – everyone is different.”
Speaking to The Mirror, a spokesperson for the farm shop said: “The shop sells a number of widely-available soft drinks.
“Stock varies throughout the year.”
