Making cannabis candy is easier than you might have thought. You only need a couple of tools, basic ingredients and some patience to successfully make the most delicious weed candy recipe. Whether you want them soft or hard, do it to your heart’s content with this interchangeable recipe.
The main advantage of infusing THC or CBD into hard candies is that the dosage and potency are up to you. Overall, weed edibles are a great way to stay discreet.
Basic Ingredients for Making Cannabis Hard Candies
The basic ingredients needed to make the most delicious weed candy recipe are quite simple and readily available. This includes sugar, water, corn syrup and cannabis tincture. The first thing you need to decide on, is whether you want to make hard-hitting THC hard candy or soothing CBD hard candy.
If you’re looking for THC edibles, then simply use a THC tincture. The same goes for CBD tincture with CBD edibles. Of course, you can also use both. You can implement any flavor extract or coloring you want in cannabis candy. This is where you can experiment and get creative with your edibles.
Experimenting with Cannabis Candy
Use your sparkling human creativity to experiment with new flavors, colors, and shapes when making weed candy. Once you grasp the basics of making hard candies, you can start experimenting even more with different colors and shapes.

Useful Weed Candy & Gummy Tips
Here are a few tips and tricks to help you zest up and increase the enjoyability rating of your weed candy.
Experiment with Flavor
For the most out of this weed candy recipe, you’ll want to add in some flavorings of your own. Any flavoring oil used for making hard candy will work just fine. In terms of the amount of candies you want to make, it’s really up to you to ensure your desired flavor shines through.
It’s recommended to use a desired amount of flavoring for this weed candy recipe. Just keep in mind that gummies are competing for flavor against the cannabis-infused coconut oil, so a heavy hand might serve you well.
Sweet or Sour?
If you prefer your cannabis-infused gummy bears to have a little sweet or sour kick, you’ll want to add some acid. Citric and malic acid are naturally found in fruits – and gives them that tart zest that many of us like so much.
Use citric acid for citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges, and malic acid for fruits such as strawberries, peaches or cherries.
Add a teaspoon of malic or citric acid to your gummies to zest them up. But you are advised to be careful, as too much citric acid is a bad thing. We recommend adding your acid after the mixture has cooled off, or just before pouring it into your candy molds.
Up the Shelf Life
Potassium sorbate is a preservative that can go a long way in preventing mold and increasing the general shelf life of your gummy bears. Just add in 1/4th of a teaspoon when adding everything together in your cooking vessel.
To up the shelf life even longer, you can dust your dried gummies in powdered sugar or corn starch, both of which will help prevent clumping and sticking together.
If you’re making vegan weed gummy bears, it can be done by simply replacing the gelatin with agar-agar at a 1:1 ratio. Agar-agar, also known as Kanten, is an algae-based product readily available. Much like gelatin, it must be bloomed before use and boiled with the other ingredients.
You may also choose to replace part of your water with a non-citrus fruit juice, such as apple, or mashed/pureed fruit such as strawberries or blueberries. The additional pectin will ensure your gummies are nice and firm and ready to eat.
